NPR ran a story on window farming (even though I think it should really be called window gardening, but that's a different story) that I thought you would enjoy. So you can listen to it here.
Here's a video the window farming project too:
Pretty interesting, eh?

Oooh, that was super cool. Thanks for sharing. :) I agree that it should be called Window Garden, but Window Farm sounds more like "Wind Farm"...and well I think it is more catchy because we already have that term in our vocabulary...maybe. I checked out the website and it is really neat because so many people from around the world have adopted this method.
ReplyDeleteWould you ever try it? Truthfully it seems like a lot of work to me.
ReplyDeleteLast night Ryan and I were talking about moving to Oakland and he was like "if you move you can do that window thing." Ha, I love that he is trying to entice me to move with urban gardening.
It does seem like a lot of work. I think I would like to just buy a nice, but not too bulky, book case to place in the window and just have pots. It would also be a lot more aesthetically pleasing. You just need to find a south facing apartment!
