While you were traveling Marci...

NPR ran a story on window farming (even though I think it should really be called window gardening, but that's a different story) that I thought you would enjoy. So you can listen to it here.

Here's a video the window farming project too:

Pretty interesting, eh?

  1. Oooh, that was super cool. Thanks for sharing. :) I agree that it should be called Window Garden, but Window Farm sounds more like "Wind Farm"...and well I think it is more catchy because we already have that term in our vocabulary...maybe. I checked out the website and it is really neat because so many people from around the world have adopted this method.

  2. Would you ever try it? Truthfully it seems like a lot of work to me.

Last night Ryan and I were talking about moving to Oakland and he was like "if you move you can do that window thing." Ha, I love that he is trying to entice me to move with urban gardening.

  3. It does seem like a lot of work. I think I would like to just buy a nice, but not too bulky, book case to place in the window and just have pots. It would also be a lot more aesthetically pleasing. You just need to find a south facing apartment!
